Your child’s first years play a crucial role in establishing the habits they will foster throughout the rest of their lives.  That’s why I think it is important that the TV shows they watch be educational in nature.  I am not advocate of using the TV screen as a babysitter but there are times in every mom’s day when the TV can be a BIG help.  Make it an even bigger help but allowing it to instill a love of learning and some educational value.
