So, my husband surprised the kids with a HUGE box of assorted glow sticks and LED necklaces last night.  He ordered them online somewhere – there are L.E.D. necklaces, mini glowsticks, glow sticks on ribbon, bracelets, wands and even military grade glow sticks.  Here are some of the pics we took (with my iPhone) of the kids in the dark:

We tried dropping a couple in a glass of water to make the drinks glow but I think this would work best in a frosted or plastic cup so the light would be diffused and you wouldn’t be able to see the stick so much.

That's the small glass tumbler in the middle with the mini glow sticks dropped in. Definitely need to use a clear plastic glass to get a more diffused look.

Ava decided to stick the military grade one in to make it glow more!

Then my son decided to drop the military grade glow sticks under the ice in a bucket we still had sitting out from our Kinect Rush House Party earlier in the day…. VERY cool!

We are totally going to start doing this for outdoor evening parties!  And, it’d be so perfect for a Fourth of July Party!  Maybe a blue one & a red one for that!
