I recently found out I will soon be an Auntie again so I have been on the lookout for great baby shower gifts.  And, I have found a priceless gift!  For My Children: A Mother’s Journal of Memories, Wishes and Wisdom by Dionna Ford would make the perfect gift for any mom or mom-to-be!  In fact, I’m thinking I may just keep this copy for myself and order another to be the gift I had originally intended!

This hardcover book provides a wide variety of writing prompts for Mom.  Many mother-to-child journals I’ve seen in the past have writing prompts and questions but this book goes beyond life as a mom.  The book encourages its owner to write about so many different aspects of life: fears, accomplishments, recipes, current events, etc. in addition to the typical questions like naming a favorite memory of your child.  There are even prompts such as “Ten great questions to spark conversation on a first date:” and “What are effective ways to let go of anger or hatred?”
